I'm coming to TW and want to get an idea of what it's possible to save.
OK, so average salaries are about 55-60k p/m. How much do you save per month? What kind of lifestyle/apartment does this afford you? Is being in/out of Taipei a big factor?
Cheers my dears. |

Wages and living standards on Taiwan are in a downturn for foreign teachers on Taiwan as a direct result of government discrimination of non ethnic Chinese teachers.

You may have a difficult time maintaining any kind of savings at all.
Good luck!

Please state your source for this claim.
I do not agree with it at all.
Wages have increased over the years, in excess of rises in the cost of living.
The standard of living here also continues to rise. There are new houses, restaurants, shops etc. opening on an almost daily basis.
Once again I would be interested in hearing your reasons for making this claim. |

I save nothing but have a very comfy life. I also have a g/f, so that's why I don't save. |

I live very well here and have saved about a 1000USD a month during the past three years because I have had girlfriends, with money.
Yes, I teach in a cram school. 4:30-8:30
Times up, I'm off to travel South America next month.
Easy money here!
