Hello Russkie Forum:
Long time no see.
As most of you know, I'm in Bangkok at the moment, teaching full-time, sweating like a pig and putting the finishing touches on a new Master Index for the Thailand Forum - which leaves me less free time to update the The Master Index Russia & CIS.
If you happen to land on a dead link --- which makes my blood boil --- or would like to suggest a new link or 2, PLEASE feel free to reply right here on this thread. I try to check in on the Russia Forum at least once a week, and I'll be sure to check this post when I do.
большое спасибо; enjoy the Spring thaw! |

I'm never too busy for a personal request from dmb!
I'll use the 'page view thingy' for the April Top Ten. |

Great to hear from you again!I know it gets very hot and humid in Bangkok at this time of year, but those Thai girls seem to look sweet and cute in any weather!Sorry to say I have heard from my Russian friends that things in their country are not so good and they are quite worried about where they are going, not just the economy and the cost of living which affects most of the people, but also the way the government is slowly but surely tightening the screws on political opposition etc. They are fed-up of course with the overall situation, but know that unlike in Georgia and Ukraine etc, where a more liberal and western orientated style of government took over,Russia has a lot of nasty and increasingly influential extremist groups who could come to power, with dire consequences not only for them, but for the world at large.
All the best!

Yep, quite a few foreigners here are keeping an eye on the prices of one-way tickets
And the weather sucks. 5th of May and hardly a leaf to be seen in St. Petersburg. |

Well, I might have one - I rather tentatively opened the "вакансии" section of my site, although there's only one "вакансия" there at the moment.
That said, one guy got a firm offer and another set up an interview within less than 48 hours of it going up, so I suppose it's working more or less okay. Plus the вакансия itself is pretty cool.
http://www.visarus.co.uk/"работы"/index.php <-- best to have a look before adding the link though - remember to translate the secret code
Hope to have lots more вакансий there by the end of the month. Hello to Thailand, send me a curry! |

I love secret codes.
Thanks bobs12!
Just got back this afternoon from a 9 hour visa-run to Cambodia! Is TEFL fun or what?
PS: I updated the VisaRus links as well ...
and that means it's time for холодное пиво! (my favourite secret code) |

Only nine hours? Cool!
Here's one to add to your school directory if you like:
http://www.visarus.co.uk/community/schools.php
Been watching the number of search engine hits on my site going up at a crazy pace, but there's still a constant number of hits from the one and only Index |

Thanks, bobs12.
Now that's a nice resource - and good practice for those learning to read Russian.
While it's on my mind: Does anybody know if Language Link is still offering the CELTA? The Teacher Training page of their website shows a 2003 syllabus - and I was just wondering what's up with that. |

Good point about the Russian Going to make that bilingual in the fullness of time, but there's a little secret there that I hope to use as a lure to draw all those schools in as users to the site We'll see how that goes though.
Kent, with your attention to detail you should be working somewhere as a webmaster Respect all the way from Saint Petersburg! |
