Just out of interest, is it best to bring the original degree / TEFL certificates to Japan or will they accept colour copies of such?
What are your experiences, have you ever been asked to produce the original??

I'm doing JET in July, is it even necessary to bring any originals with me???

Are you planning to look for work while you are on the JET plan? That's what it sounds like. Or were you saying that you want to apply to JET with copies of your certificates.

If it's the former, copies of certificates are acceptable most of the time, I think. For your college degrees, however, it's a roll of the dice. Usually, immigration seems to ask for originals, but certified copies will do, too.
