I just got my offer from Aeon, and they want to send me to Tokuyama. That place is a bit smaller than the preference I stressed (Hiroshima, Nagasaki or Kyoto), and I'll be darned if I can't find much about it on the Internet. Does anyone know ANYTHING at all about this place? I would love any advice |

Marebear, Is it possible they could have meant "Takayama", instead of "Tokuyama"? If so, the city of Takayama, in Gifu-Ken is a great place, and I wouldn't hesitate to accept a job there, even if it is far less cosmopolitan than the places you prefer. It isn't too far from Nagoya. If it is indeed "Tokuyama", sorry, I haven't heard of it. Maybe somebody else can help you out. Good luck! |

Unfortunately, no, it is Tokuyama (in the Yamaguchi prefecture in Chugoku). But I did find a website for a guy who was in the exact same city working for Aeon (I think I'll even be living in the same apartment he did). He had a journal of his time there, which was a HUGE help, and some photos of the town and the apartment. He and I have been emailing, which is sooooo helpful. Thank you for helping me out, though:) |
