Hi there, does anybody know anything about the Star of Harbin constellation?
I think I'll give it a whirl but I cannot get them to say whether Ill be teaching at the uni or SHS or if Ill be teaching A Level Business Studies or ESL or both.
Anyway, those are details for the press to iron out in due course.
How about conditions etc - does anybody know about this place. Any general remarks about Harbin itself would also be very handy indeed. |

Hey there,
If you are talking about Harbin Star Foreign Language College then I may be able to help. It's changed it's name since I was there it's now affiliated with the near by Harbin normal university. The school also has a 'high school' where they teach A-levels but it's all part of the same college campus. In addition the school also owns a primary school which is located in the city itself.
If this is the right place then PM me and I can give you some more info about the school and the city(which I loved). You could also take a look at the journals on Dave's, there are a few postings about Star but most are old and/or very negative.
Cheers

I don't know about the school in question, but I live and work in Harbin and have found it comfortable, friendly and with enough to do on a Friday or Saturday night to keep you from getting cabin fever.
There are many school and universities here, plenty of foreign teachers and students if that's who you enjoy mixing with and the locals are also open and friendly.
I lived for over a year in a city called in Huizhou in Guangdong province and am far happier and healthier here in Harbin.
Feel free to pm me if you have any questions I may be able to answer.
cheers, R |
