I am new at all of this, but I received my first offer today at a school in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province. Does anyone have any information about the city? The school is called Taizhou Normal College. Has anyone worked at this school?

What questions should I ask the program director about the school?

The school is willing to offer an immediate, official letter of invitation. I started my job search recently, so I want to see if I will get other offers. Does anyone have advice as to how I can hang on to this offer while waiting for others? Any advice will be appreciated - thanks!

What's your experience?
One of my colleagues has been marking time since September until She leaves here and this is a normal university.

Best yet, find something else to do.

Thanks for the information! I'll check out the off-site forum and see what I can find. I don't have any ESL/EFL experience, but I spent a few years on Wall Street. I want a career change, so I would really like this to work out for the best. I'll be TEFL certified by July 2005.

From what I understand there's a big demand for workers in the markets.

Julie,
I have lived in Jiangsu for 3 years now. Taizhou is quite small for a Chinese city and may not have as many western products as some other cities here. Jiangsu is one of the most developed provinces in China but for a first time teacher I would suggest Suzhou, Wuxi or Nanjing rather than Taizhou. I may know of a few jobs in these cities, if you are interested PM me.
