KFUPM in Dhahran is a better place to work, but Jeddah is a nice city.

The salaries may not be that great, but I don't see why Scot 47 considers KFUPM better, unless he has worked at both institutions.

My question is who wants to live in SA for $21,000 a year and free housing. Can't you make that in Korea?

You can make that much in Korea and not have to put up with that Middle East crap. Well maybe you like the Middle East, I don't know. All I am saying is that I would not work in KSA for $21,000 a year.

It's so nice to hear from yet another culturally sensitive ESL teacher! As for myself, I'm glad I don't live on a compound here in the KSA-and have to put up with that "Western Expat crap"

Dear Marv

You may find that with the one years experience you get much less than $21,000.

I would try one or two of the private gigs as well. Keep your options open. And check who pays interview expenses.
