Star Wars III or VI depending on how your counting stars on thursday the 19th a Hoilday in turkey for schools. Found some good seats yesterday. Laughing

Looks as if the film will be big in Turkey as well. I saw the first star wars in 1977 and now I get to watch the last one Smile

I wholeheartedly second everything Entrailicus says. Starting as a wee 6 year old and seeing the first films in the theatre, I waited with baited breath pretty much MY WHOLE LIFE for the sequels or prequels or whatever. Freaking video game advertisements, those films. Actually, the 1st was such crap I couldn't be bothered with the second.

And may Lucas burn in hell for the re-digitising of the originals. I'd rather watch D�nya Kutaran Adam.

I saw about the first half the other night, but then I fell asleep. Not because of the film but because the government has reduced taxes on foreign wines and I overindulged in the Montepulciano.

The film was pretty good, from what I saw. It seemed to capture the spirit of the book, and it made me want to read the books again.

I plan to watch the rest this afternoon, so I'll keep everyone posted...

i saw hhgttg. it's allright i guess. i rather read the books and create my own mental image of the characters than see them on screen, so i might be a little biased. i agree with justme though; the movie does stay true to the books. still, it could've been much funnier. the towel doesn't have much of a meaning in the movie. the excessive focus on the romantic relationship is sickening and marvin looks a lot like the arcelik robot!

other than dunyayi kurtaran adam (which is a worldwide cult classic now) check out "turist omer uzay yolunda" Smile

hillarious movie! this is the original movie that inspired what's his face-the comedian guy- to write gora.

Like alterego said hhgttg was ok and it did stay true to the book, I thought they would also look at second part rateotu. Thats a real laugh. Btw did anyone spot the old robot marvin from the BBC show from a few years back in the new film.

P.S the new star wars is meant to be alot better, and for all of you who think it was crap, well your just wrong wrong wrong Exclamation

Star wars was the first film of the modern age. 2001 was deep and hard to follow (who has sat through the full final light show at the end). Star wars was fun

Okay, I guess I am the minority here, but I really, really loved Star Wars 1 or 4 depending on how we wish to approach it. I disliked the 2nd or the 5th, but I am holding my breath that the 3rd or the 6th is going to be really good.
I have noticed a slight pattern in trilogies, the second one always bites and the third one picks things up a little bit, but still can't touch the first. An example, sorry, but the Matrix, I LOVED the Matrix, but Reloaded I thought was a major let down. Revolutions was better, not as great as the first but still far better then the second. In college I wrote a paper for my Religion in Media class, Christian Mythology in the Matrix. I got an A+ Very Happy

Don't know if anyone cared about that but I thought I would throw those ou for people.
Also what happened with Freddy -vs- Jason and Predator -vs- Alien? I was dreaming about those movies for my entire childhood and then I was so let down! Someone should be strung up and shot for making those movies so horribly! These movies should have been made by Ron Howard, or Steven Spielberg or no one at all.

So the film on Thursday. Could spoil it and tell one and all how it ends, but you all know so whats the point. Rolling Eyes

Review: The first half hour or so is abit slow, picks up in the middle and ends with two great fight bits towards the end. Out of ten I give it 6 or 7 at the most. I expected more, but then again you never get what you hope for.
