Hi.
I am currently working for a despatch company in Junior High School. I really enjoy it but its a one year contract and it's my belief that the contract changes company every year.
i want to keep working in state schools but i am hoping to be employed by a board of education. I did a search and i know Sendai and Okinawa boards of eductaion employ directly. Does anyone know of any other boards of education that employ direct?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

Hehe.... Funny boy. Yes..... But that's like asking a river outfitter to divulge the location of his super-secret fishing hole or a chef to give you the recipe to his prize-winning quiche. Not gonna happen.
BoE jobs are few and far-in-between. and becoming even more rare by the day. People who know of one will either be working for one themselves or keeping tabs on what openings they might have in the near future. Or, if they are leaving, you can be guaranteed they're looking for ways to hook up their less-fortunate friends who are still working eikaiwa and would jump at the opportunity. Either way, they ain't talkin'. Don't expect anyone to give up their foot-in-the-door... Much less on a public Internet forum. Ask around, make friends, go "door-to-door" and make phone calls, possibly with the help of a Japanese friend if you can't speak Japanese well enough.
I don't mean to come across as an ass, but I would ALSO like to get a listing of BoEs to apply to once my contract opportunities run out where I work currently. Fact is, if you spend enough time here and get to know people, you'll also get to know where and how to secure a BoE job... As far as I know, they don't usually advertise because they don't have to. People come to them.
Good luck! (And I do mean that sincerely). |

I've heard Okinawa has cut the pay so much in the last year that it looks like charity work.
However, there are wards in Tokyo, not sure which, that do hire dirrectly.
Contact them indivdually.. |
