				| Interesting. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at various job offers. E-mailed Susan Chao at Putian U. Any one ever heard of it? The ad mentioned something like 8,000 for 20 hours, can't remember.
So I get an e-mail from her saying, "Gosh, that position is filled. But we still need two foreign teachers...at 2,200 to 3,500"

Does the odor of deacy linger in Denmark?

 (Something smells fishy)

				| Ever more schools pay 8000 or a little less. Have you seen an advertisement of this school? I visited Putian in Fujian province some time ago. Like most other Fujian towns, - the only exception I can think of is Xiamen! - Putian is uninspiring. It is quite small, has one KFC, one McDonald's, maybe one 3-star hotel, a fairly nice pedestrian zone and a large temple on its outskirts but little else. You will be a walking sensation every day. If I were you, I would not swap Henan for Fujian, and I would certainly not move to Putian even if pay is as good there as in Shijiazhuang.

				| bait and switch tactics, what can I say except to respond with some of your own. Feign interest in the job and then when you are about to sign on the dotted line just say you've got a job elsewhere offering a better salary, etc.
I have only passed through Putian briefly, but I think Roger's assessment is accurate. There is a beautiful spot in the mountains near Putian called Qingyunshan. I have written something about it on my website. It is one and a half hours by bus from Putian.

				| Alas, poor Yorick, methinks thou hast verily suffered the slings and arrows of a classic B&S. Kickst them square in their codpieces.

Golly (trying to clean up!), Wix! You're new here I think but I like the cut of your jib. Excellent.
