I'm considering teaching in Turkey just for the summer. Has anyone had problems with short-term contracts? I would imagine that language schools are open to them, but I wonder if there tends to be mistreatment by management if they know a teacher is there only for a limited time.
If anyone has completed a short-term contract, were there any hassles receiving final pay, etc.?
Also, are there summer teaching oppertunites in Izmir or Antalya? I previously taught in Istanbul and am also considering returning there.
Thanks for any insight. |

Not in my experience. Language schools are quieter in the summer and the full timers need hours. |

Your only real bet is to work in a summer camp for pocket money. I know EFL wages in Turkey amount to pocket money anyway but the summer camps really do pay next to nothing. A pal of mine worked at one in Erdek and he had a great time but said the temptation was terrible. |

Regarding Izmir, has anyone had experience with The English Academy's summer camps?
Pay? Conditions? Is it worth it for someone not currently in the country? |

Their summer camp pays pocket money. It is worth it only if you have no experience or qualifications and are looking for a way into tefl for a year or so or if you are a student and looking to doss around for the summer. |
