The camp you are talking about is a good one. I've worked for the organizer before and the position is pretty decent. I'd watch out for CES for any long term positions, though. There is definitely some creative 'bending' of the truth about jobs. But the summer camp will be good! |

Randerso,
Hmmm, very interesting you should say that- I am currently in a long term position recruited by this company in Gansu. What do you mean? I would be MOST interested.....
This position isn't the worst I've heard about, but it could be a hell of a lot better. The FAO is shocking (though pays on time, when he's HERE that is and not in the Provincial capital!!) and I think the company could have given me a little more warning about it. Thankfully they have always been there whenever problems crop up- I've been here 6 mths and had to email them about several issues and they have been helpful. What peeves me off is that even with all the probs here they are STILL advertising this position on their website !!! |

That's totally what I mean, Songbird, CES' continued advertising of schools where they have been told that either things are crap or that they are not as promised. I'm not sure on whose end the problem exists: it may be that the oft absent or incompetant FAO's of the schools are lying about the conditions to CES or that CES just uses poetic license to advertise. But either way, I think the blame lies with CES for not fully checking out or representing the schools the recruit for. They are not the worst company, I'd just suggest some caution when dealing with them.
PM me if you want more info, don't go off here. |

Randerso, I think you've hit the bullseye. Yes, the school I am at is VERY VERY remote (was warned this before I left, no worries) so I very much doubt CES has even been out here to check it out. And yes, I get the feeling the FAO (F**k All Office) has lied through his teeth with a few things. Sure, I got an apartment, fairly nice (the main thing I was worried about) but there were a few other niggly issues.
Everyone, you have been warned, just really really suss the school beforehand. Interesting thing is, I *did*, I looked through every blacklist I could possibly find on the net and found nothing ! |
