Hello all.
It's nice to finally find a sight where I can talk with people about living and working in DF. My wife and I are going to be moving to DF after we sell our home here in Texas, which we're hoping will be around December or January.
I have lived and worked in DF many years ago and now want to go back because I've finally finished my degree here in the States and also my wife wants to be around her mom more.
I just read a letter from a guy who is in China and wanted to know how much he could make teaching English in Mexico and someone was telling him that it's possible to make $10,000 pesos a month if you travel from class to class.
Does anyone know some of the names of the schools that would offer that much? I say that much because I'm going to be living with my wife at her house which is right outside of DF. Her parents are the only ones there now and neither one of them is getting any younger so rent won't be an issue. I'm sorry that I can't remember the name of the person on this sight that was giving the information about the $10,000 pesos per month, but this is my first letter and I forgot to look at the name.
Any information would help.
Thanks.

That looks like my handiwork. I live and work in DF.
In the company English class circuit, it's a little hard to land all your hours with one school, though certainly possible. Most likely, you'd put together hours from two such schools to get up to a likely maximum of 25 hours per week. At a an average 100 pesos per hour (with some schools paying more, some less), you'd be pulling in 10,000 pesos per month before taxes.
Trave time could be an issue for you if you are living outside DF. This place is so big that my hometown of Ottawa, Canada is 'just outside DF' PM me if you'd like to chat. |
