Folks

Need to be in Taiwan in late August for the start of the school year.

Will need to get a 60 day visitor visa from TECO in Ottawa/Ontario.

How long does it take to get the paperwork done, and what are the requirements? Is a police check necessary? (this can be costly).

Looking at the downloadable form from TECO - they seem to only ask you to tick a box attesting that you have no criminal record, is that right?

The school says that they will change the status of the teacher from the 60 day visitor visa once they arrive on the Island. The school says that it is better to do it this way, rather than ask for a work permit from the start.

Any information and feedback gratefully received.

You may need to have an offical statement from the police stating that you do not have a criminal record.
