|
|
Rather than sifting through the thousands of jobs on offer at various sites (spending time I just do not have to spare), I thought I would contact a few recruiters/agencies to give me a hand. So I did a search of this forum and could only read negative comments about a whole swag of them.
Can anyone recommend a reputable, service-oriented agency or, at least, one with a good track record of finding the right job for the right applicant? |

I certainly havent read all the posts on this site regarding recruiters however I have spoken to several colleagues whove used Angelinas Caf with positive results. The salaries quoted on Angelinas website tend to be on the low side, entry level, but the service is apparently fine. |

I am currently working for Buckland in the Yangshou. they have been great and i also have many friends happy with their service. The salary is 4000 p month with a 500 allowance for food and utilities. The schools you are sent too are partnership schools and must meet a certain standard as in the contract. if they dont you are well within your right to leave or ask for the relevant problems to be rectified. Owen , the boss and his staff will help you with any problems. My advice is to try and get to a school that has never had foreign teachers before, as all your stuff will be brand spanking new and they will treat you like royalty.
Hope this is helpful. |

I have a genuine friend who is a recuriter which I met when looking for a job. He gave me some work not related to teaching for a couple of months and helped me with my visa.
He was very frustrated with the recuitment business in China has he had been cheated from a number of schools and quickly understood who were genuine and not. I found him very trustworthy. Check him out. His name is Patrick on www.globalhrlink.com .
One of the things that most teachers have a problem with is that recuiters lie to get you to the China and have no power to help once they are contracted to you. Well in many cases the recuiter was lied to by the school and if the recuiter tried to get involved to help the teacher they are duely told to butt out of their business. This only helps to make recruiters have a worse name than they really should have. |

Just be careful if you are choosing to go with a recruiter. There are a few here that people have mentioned have been good, but there are tons of bad ones out there. Remember that they make make money from placing you in a postion. I got screwed over big time by trusting one. I made 3 requests before agreeing to sign at a particular school, when I arrived not one of them was honoured. You will also usually get less money going through a recruiter. The average salaries between 3000RMB- 4000RMB. If you have a degree and TESOL/TEFL I would strongly suggest you take the time to weed through the job ads. |

A good recruiter can be a big help in finding the best job and in acting as a go-between if a problem arises. I've worked with Wendy Wei for three years and have found her honest and reliable. Her English is fairly good, and she's objective and responsible. Her e-mail is [email protected].
She works out of Chengdu with contacts mostly in Sichuan. |
