				| Y'all--
I cant pay $1,500 plus month-long stay and travel at some other city to get certified and simultaneously afford airfare and start-up cash for Santiago, Chile: I must cheapen the certification process, then.

My boy Demetrious from Las Vegas who wants to travel so he can increase his eligibility to law school in September 2004 writes today, The English-Int angle definitely sounds good; but, we've uncovered other options such as i-to-i, which offers TEFL certification for a total of $265 (or $295). Or, we could take the beginning phase of TEFL [a 50-hour course through English-International], for $195.

Whatever we do, our focal point should be the proper certification ...

He continued, My position is this: We get at least TEFL certified via the cheapest and most respectable means. If we start by next week, we can be on our way by early June-mid July.

Like Demetrious, I figure the same: Distance Education is affordable and thus more pertinent to my goals: to live in Latin America for at least one year in an attempt to better undertand the region's language and political culture.

The advice I need: i-to-i or English International (or some other certifying body accessible for less than $300)?

 Much appreciated (in advance),

 Peace (is strategic).
