Hi Maruko,
I'm the current NET at both the schools you stated (Lee Yat Ngok and PLK WCA.) Both schools are fine. The teaching load at LYN is less than the one I have at the Sha Tin School, and it's what most people would consider to be a good school. I don't work weekends and my working hours are 7.50 am to 3.45 pm, except on Fridays where I stay behind an extra half hour to do a planning meeting. They've not been stingy with my holidays, either. The teachers are friendly enough and they co-operate, which is more than can be said for a lot of schools.
As for accomodation, I would suggest long term you stay on Hong Kong Island itself (more expats and less isolating but rent is much more expensive there,) anywhere on the red MTR line (you'll understand if you come over) and maybe near Tai Wai KCR, where a few NETs live. All these places are within 30-40 mins travelling time. I don't recommmend that you live near the school, it's more for local chinese people (i.e. no bars, no western restaurants,no-one speaks English)
I was also thinking of moving to a quiet village named Hin Keng, near Tai Wai, as this was the terminal bus stop for both schools. It would have taken 20mins to get to the Sha Tin school and half an hour to get to the Kwai Hing school.
