I see in the Metropolis that on Aug 17 Japan is playing Iran in a WC Qualifying game. I got one of my staff to call the number listed (as I assumed that they would just speak Japanese) and apparently there was no answer at the other end of the line. Does anyone know any more information about this? Apparently it's going to be played in Saitama Stadium which I assume is close to me since I'm just on the edge of Saitama prefecture. I'd like to know specifically what the different ticket prices are going to be and how rare these tickets are going to be. I assume that I should probably be trying to snag some right now instead of waiting.

Can anyone provide me with a little more information regarding this or at least point me to an english friendly website with some of these details?

Also one more thing. I have a Vodafone and I would like to download a ringtone for it, specifically "The Rock Show" by Blink 182. I have no idea where I can do this. I don't want a membership service, I don't want to pay money each month and get "points" to download more songs I just want one bloody song and I only want to have to pay for it once! Does Vodafone have an english service that offers this? Almost all the sites i visit on my phone are japanese and I have no idea what they're saying.

Sorry to be negative but I think your chances of getting a ticket for Japan home games is very slim. With the help of friends I have tried the last few home games but they go like hot cakes. I think I am correct in saying that all the tickets are sold over the web (maybe not in Tokyo and Saitama?) and they generally go within a few hours. If you dont read kanji you will need a friend`s help - and maybe a Japanese credit card (but I never got far enough to enter credit card details). I am sorry but I threw away the web site details. Not very helpful I am afraid, if you try I hope you have better luck than me. Oh, one thing I do remember, there is usually a lottery organised by Kirin through one of the combi chains (family mart I think - you will see the flyers at the checkout if they do it again this time). I think you get one lottery ticket for every 6 cans you buy, so perhaps some heavy drinking might do the trick.

Family mart are running a lottery for tickets which you can enter every time you spend 600 yen on Kirin beer in one of their stores - or at least they are in Kyushu. Must be pretty long odds though

Just looked at the world cup qualifying site.

Alot depends on the game tonight (6/3) Bahrain v Japan. If Japan win, and assuming they beat N.Korea (they should since NK have lost home ground advantage) then the Japan v Iran match should be a dead rubber, And maybe a little easier to get tickets.

If Japan draw or especially if they lose then everything will hang on a win against Iran so I think competition for tickets will be especially fierce.
