Hi
I am on an ARC and my husband has a spousal ARC. I am in the process of breaking my contract early but legally - I am giving proper notice etc. What I want to know, is what do I need to do for my husband? Tealit.com advises that teachers have every right to change jobs as long as they fulfill the notice period stated in their contracts. Apparently I just need a 'termination letter' from my old school and my new school needs to simply notify the CLA by sending in a standard form, and bingo. However, Tealit doesn't mention anything about spouses....
Would appreciate some advice.
Thanks |

I suggest that you exercise care with your predicament. The process that you have stated is basically correct. The area of concern is that your current employer may cancel your work permit/ARC before your new employer has had time to add their name to it.
You might be best to add your new employer to your ARC first, and then get the old one off it. The new employer will need to apply for a new work permit for you to do this. You may as well get this started now so that there is no gap in between.
I don't expect that any of this will affect the spousal visa and ARC but your spouses ARC may need updating at the same time. You best ask the FAP about that as they are the ones who issue the ARC and they speak English. |

Your spouses residency status depends solely on you. As long as you gave a legitimate resident visa and ARC your spouse will have no problems.' Your employer does not sponsor him , you do. |
