I'm hoping to teach English in Dublin. I know that there are a huge number of ESL students who flock there each summer (particularly Spaniards) but I don't know how easy it is to find a teaching job. Can anyone comment? I am certified, have had experience teaching in Mexico, and have a BA in English.
Thanks,
Julia
Ps... I posted this in the Europe "Other Countries" forum as well but this forum seems to get a lot more exposure. |

You have left out VITAL information. What is your nationality ?
Sorry, but the passport you travel on has a bearing on whether or not you will get work. If you hold a passport from Irealand or one of the other member states of the European Union you might find something.
Otherwise......... You might have problems. |

Sorry, yes, I should have mentioned that. I'm Canadian but I'm able to get a 1-year visa to Ireland through a Canadian governmental student agreement. So getting the visa wouldn't be a problem - I can go without having a job set up prior to departure - but I need to know whether I'll be able to find a TESL job once I get there.
Thanks,
