hello all,

here's my situation:

part-time employee (12-14 hours/week)
i have an arc (have never signed a contract, verbally agreed that i would stay for at least one year)

after about 3-4 months I asked for health coverage. my boss said they would apply but i would have to pay 100%. i thought nothing of it and was given insurance but billed for the costs retroactive to the day my arc was validated by the government. the bill was 6k! i paid it but now have heard from many foreigners that the law states health coverage is shared between employer and employee.

my question! though my boss claims part-time employees are not to be assisted with the costs of health insurance, is she right or wrong? how can i get the final word? i have scoured the net for help but came up empty handed.
