Hey guys,
I just got word from a friend of mine travelling in Russia who is travelling with a tourgroup from Moscow to Beijing, and one person has got some visa problems.
Thing is the visa agency screwed up and didn't put the right exit date on it, but I guess she hadnt noticed and now they're in Irkutsk.
In a few days they'll cross the border to Mongolia, and the guy was wondering if this could turn out to be a bigger problem than she anticipated.
Do any of you guys know what happens with these kinds of issues?
I once had a little thing in Vladivostok at the Chinese border where they made a lot of fuss over my entry ticket (which I still had, and wasn't supposed to have...) So they could definitely turn this into a much bigger thing.
On the other hand, she's travelling in a tourgroup, and is perfectly willing to pay a fine (will there be one?)
Well, she'll be 5 days short on her visa.
What do you reckon? send her back to Moscow and suss it out there?
Or a $150 fine (plus some extra present)?

Sorry I've no idea but couldn't she call her embassy in Russia and just ask their advice? |
