Hi - anyone know if this place is above board??
[Yunnan college of Business Management - previously college of Economics & finance
... they have been in contact to say their genrous (!!!) offer of 4000 RMB/month is cos they now include in this the cost of flights - they used to give 2,600 - ha!

I'm an Irish girl, 23,with RELSA tefl cert & law degree, looking to teach from this fall (the 16-24 hr week, c. 4.500 RMB deal) wanting Kunming for the mild climes and general recommendations! Also heard good things bout Sichuan. Now,I have been scouring all related sites for the last 6 months and I'm running out of time! And getting brain-fry.

Suggestions / information please! thanks a mill everyone

Best regards

Seems to be a jolly irony that my former Shenzhen girlfriend was a teacher at this Kunming institution (if I remember well).
She went to Shenzhen to make money - which clearly was not possible in her native Yunnan province.
Fact is that most FTs get underpaid compared to incomes almost anywhere else in China.
To include your airfare in your salary is a new tactic; it would be interesting to know how much airfare they used to pay to FTs making RMB 2600. The airfare normally is a minimum of 5000, but can top 8000. The question arises: how many monthly salaries are they going to pay you? (I guess 10 - no pay during summer holidays). That would mean they are paying an unusually high RMB 14000 for airfare.
There must be another legitimisation for their offer.
Do they include your work visa (new: resident's permit in your passport)?
That's the deciding question! Vicsas can be expensive! And making you work on anything else than a work visa puts you in a situation of being compromised.
