I applied to them in the first week of January 2005. Six weeks later I receive a phone interview. Then I receive an email asking me to start work; in 5 days. I do not have a visa, or a plane ticket. I reply that it is not possible. They then offer me another job; with the same time limit. This action occurs four times. Then they get the hint and don't offer me another job.
This was my first experience of Chinese narrow-mindedness. I am desperate to work in China and make the mistake of trying to adapt. I but a tourist visa and plane ticket: Big mistake.
Before you buy a visa, demand a letter of invitation from the school. Then ask if they will sponsor a work (Z) visa.
Everyone beginning a job in China should do this. |

You should be able to easily get a job doing summer work. Schools are going to be desperate in about a month scrambling around trying to find teachers. Don't go through a recruiter. Look at various websites advertisting for teachers and send out your resume to any of them that sound reputable. |

There is tons of summer work here. And also, remember, summer work usually pays more. Check out a few places before you take a job. You can make some good bucks in the summer. |
