Well, people are using the forums for teacher-seeking, I thought I'd post a job-seeking message.

Simply put, if you know of a good job going this fall, preferably at a university or similar conditions, that would take a teacher with a B.A. Hons English, unrelated M.A., TESOL cert, and two years experience, drop me a PM and I'll be very grateful.

Anyone else doing the same dance around now, good luck... I'm getting sick of seeing my own CV....

Et is hiring, Gokdil is hiring, probably Interlang. Koc is hired up. If you are interested in ET, pm me.

MEF, Kemer, Kadir Has and Beykent are all on the lookout. These were just the ones I heard about last night.

Thanks guys.

If anyone's interested, Interlang is massively hiring to my direct knowledge, 'cause I had my last day with them yesterday. Cool

DMB, what are MEF and Kemer? And Molly, what's Gkdil? I have a friend at Kadir Has, so I'm trying to get contact info out of him. I've tried contacting all the unis in İstanbul (!!!) and Beykent is one of the ones I simply couldn't find an email address to send my CV to. I'm going to get a Turkish friend to help me call the ones I had problems with, but if you know who to contact...

I have worked at 3 of these places. Glad to see they have lost most/all of their staff. I wonder why?

31 I think it is only fair to say which 3 places you have worked at. It would be unfair to the places that you haven't worked at. I say that because one of my flatmates works at one of the above places and certainly has no complaints.

But your flatmates are Turkish aren`t they and hence have no complaints. They know/knew exactly what to expect and put up with it for the money.

I don`t believe that any ex-pat would have no complaints at any of these places.

Most of ET's staff is staying, some are leaving, and we are growing. That's why we're always hiring. Most teachers are happy there and when there are complaints we try to address them (not always successfully, admittedly).

I am happy they are happy. Brief description of jobs mentioned:

Interlang-had good rep at one time but always paid badly but had a lot of people doing the dip-had good resources and admin but Levent did a runner with the wages and now is owned by ET and is hourly paid high turnover you know the rest.

ET-we all know what its like

MEF-High schools-factories to get kids through the uni exam but have a good rep for paying and conditions. Teachers work 6 days a week but are well paid. Lots of exra curricular stuff and you will be working 8-6.

Gokdil -old chain of lang schools and a lise-crap pay and really worn out chain of has beens

Koc is hired up-I should hope so -it is June after all.

Beykent-crap uni that never ceases to amaze. Almost all pass and is worse than Dogus and Yeditepe. Again it is June. Beware they have a lise in Edirne as well as a lise and primary in Beykent-poor conditions and no chance of a work permit this late in the day.

Kadir Has-private uni you know the students and lots of lovely summer work

Kemer-what is that apart from a beach resort?

Yes, Gokdil was taken over by ET. it was indeed quite worn out but now it is getting spruced up and its systems are getting better.
