I think this is my last day but my dean's nowhere to be found. He's good at hiding especially when my salary's in his desk. Hopefully it is. All these scare stories scare me.

I only had classes two days last week and finished 6/13 what should be the last classes. They give the students 2 weeks to study for their faux finals. All they care about are their test guides for whatever flavor it is this week.

I been using creative writing prompts to try to teach them some vocabulary and try to get their creativity going on. Students say they don't like to write in Chinese but love QQ.

My contract finishes 6/30 and I'm afraid now I'm going to have to stick around for pctures. Any feedback about composition or the situation would be welcome. Cheers.

Pictures? I doubt it. If anything, they will ask when you'll be leaving. Probably because you are of no value to them anymore and they don't want you to use their electricity and water. Go shopping, start your packing, enjoy the last 2 weeks you have in the city and maybe even China. Take some photos of the school and the city. Treat yourself to a few good meals and party it up if you can afford it. Just relax, chill, unwind, and reflect back on your time there and thank the good Lord that you survived.

I'm in a similar looking boat as you. Yesterday I wrapped up the last of my spoken tests. The week prior, I finished the final unit I was going to teach this year - - there's just not enough classes left to try and cram in another unit - - and gave the written test. I've been showing DVDs to all my classes and most of them will be done within the next period or two. Tomorrow I plan on "game day" with one class who HAS finished its movie.

Our FAO suggested that most of us would be done "around" the 25th of June, but to check with our department heads. I did so and he won't/can't give me a set date on when I'll be finished. We have a 4-day free period coming up (June 18th-21st) and then students are supposed to be finished no later than July 3rd, according to the semester calendar I was given back in March. However, I was told yesterday (by a student, naturally) that the 4 days have been canceled and we will have one free day (19th) then students are preparing for tests - - which dates he wasn't sure. I never work on test days, so that's fine by me. The Senior 3s have a commencement "around" the 25th at which I and 4 of my students are supposed to sing.

We are supposed to get airfare reimbursement, final pay, etc. "around" the 20th and the FAO has scheduled a final meal/meeting with the FTs on the 22nd . . . no wait, the second email says the 23rd.

I've already packed up my office and classroom materials (just have to lug them to my home). I'm already halfway packed at home and plan on moving my belongings to my new digs on July 1st. In my mind, I will finish showing these DVDs, collect my pay, and call it quits. Their constant indecision and lack of information here doesn't sit well with me, so I'll make my own decisions (after I get paid, of course!) Wink
