I know this is a random question, but I was wondering if a lot of people have nose rings in BsAs/Argentina. Do you guys think it would effect getting a job? Thanks for any info anybody can give me!

I think that if you want to work as an english teacher, it shouldnt be a problem. In general, nobody cares except maybe if you teach at important law firms or corporations (where they are very formal), but not at language schools or private classes.

regards,

I'm a transplanted Madrid teacher, now getting used to living in BsAs. I had a nose ring when I did my TEFL program in Madrid, I was told (diplomatically) that it had to go. Then when I started working in Madrid , they can be on the conservative side, the academia Directors of Studies (DOS) told me - no nose rings! So it has been no nose ring for me for more than a year. We were also told we had to dress on the conservative side at least for the first class , then play it by ear. History seems to be repeatiing itself in BsAs, thought the nose ring could make a comeback and the instituto director looked at me in complete shock and told me it had to go! Argentina - Spain, the rules seem the same. Ciao!
