I have a Powerpoint version of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire quiz. I have used it quite a few times in English classes. It makes for a very fun and interesting lesson, or you can use it for English corner type classes. Obviously you need a pc with a projector or a large monitor to use it in your classroom.

I don't know if you've ever tried to write quiz questions but it's very time consuming to write good ones. I've done three lots and I can't think of any more.

What I want to do is get 10 or so sets of questions (there are 15 questions in WWtBaM). So if you could write 15 questions, increasingly difficult, I will input them and then mail you a copy of the quiz program (with all the questions) for you to use in your classes. It really is a cool lesson to do with your class. 10 whole quizzes would give you enough to use in three 2 hour classes or more.

How difficult you want to make them is upto you. I was aiming for college level non-english majors. It's best not to make them to hard because you don't want them crashing out after 2 questions.

So if you post them here, pm me your e-mail address, I'll you mail you the quizzes when I've inputed them.

Just to remind you, WWtBaM is a multiple choice quiz, one right answer, three wrong. The questions need to be under 50 letters, the answers less than 16. They can be on grammar, vocab, spelling, or cutlure from english speaking countries or whatever. A mixture works best.

For example:

Which phrasal verb means the same as disappoint?

A: let off B:let up C:let down* D:let it be

I bumped into this website yesterday:
http://www.funtrivia.com/quizzes/geography/asia/china.html

It's not really language related, but I'm sure you can find some good questions on historical and cultural topics. The link above takes you to the China bit, but click home and there are more categories to choose from.
Some questions can be quite hard though.

Here you might find some more language related stuff:

Here are some True/False (T/F) you're welcome to adapt.

(These were for a game called "Maru-Batz" which I think I found on eslcafe. The students move to the left of the room to indicate they think the statement is true, to the right for false. Read them one by one. After the students move, tell them if it's T/F. Sit down if wrong. Continue with remaining students ...)

Thanks for all the above. Sorry to seem ungrateful but I've got quizzes coming out of my arse. It takes ages to sift through them, grade them in difficulty and put them in the Millionaire's format.

So if anyone wants to take me up on my original proposal, please can you do it as above. Smile

I'm surprised you've got anything coming out of your obviously lazy arse Wink

Just click on the link I gave you and sing my praises, damn it! Mad

My lazy arse will be paying you a vistit soon.

Also, I'm going to England in August. Will you be wanting any Tesco Own Label Yeast Extract?

Also, do you know a good way of making a grand or so in London in 10 days without working too hard? (No mention of tight clothing and King's Cross please.)
