The requirements for the job include a medical with a multi-dip drug test.
Just so anyone applying for the job will know. They didn't mention this on the application, it's just a little surprise for anyone applying.
Now, drug testing cops or airline pilots I understand, but TEACHERS?!?!?! |

At least in some locations, drug testing of teachers isn't all that new. When I taught in public schools in the USA, there were school districts that included "employee is subject to drug testing at discretion of employer" or something to that effect in their contracts. That was over 10 years ago, and I believe there are school districts that continue to include it in their contracts. I'm not sure if there are any school districts in the States that do across-the-board drug testing of all of their teachers on a regular basis, however. |

I suppose it's ok if it's in the contract, but my objection is that it is NOT specifically stated.
The contract says you must pass the physical, but nowhere does it say that there is a drug test.
Sneaky. |

yes, but, yet again, the point is that it was underhanded and sneaky.
THey are desperate for warm bodies and don't want to scare off anyone, so they don't tell. (IMHO) |
