what are the basic differences with regard to living in these cities?
the reason i ask is because it seems as though the best job offers are coming out of the two smaller cities. i have some experience living abroad (outside of the US) and am not afraid of living somewhere other than the capital.
is communication and day-to-day life more challenging? it seems as though Kaoh and Tai are relatively large cities? are there essential amenities exclusive to Taipei?
obviously there won't be as many english teachers in the smaller cities, is it glaringly obvious? a lot less support from other teachers?
essentially, what i'm asking is, is there any reason why i shouldn't consider a job in one of the two smaller cities?
thanks |

Taipei has more Western amenities, than Kaohsiung but Kaohsiung is catching up. However, taipei has a great bookstore in the Taipei 101 mall (Page One is its name, I think), which Kaohsiung doesn't. Kaohsiung is cheaper to live in but has a lot more pollution and the traffic is even more insane. I can't offer any advice on Taichung ,as I have only passed through there. |
