Hi, thinking of moving to Vietnam. My wife is a certified Spanish teacher (Spansih native), does anyone know of possible work or demand there? Thanks. |

Obviously there is not nearly the same demand as for English but neither is there an equal supply.
I've met people teaching French and German at universities and cultural centers and they earn a salary comparable to what most English teachers get.
As your wife is a certified instructor, I think it highly likely that she could at least get part-time university work. Another route would be to inquire at diplomatic missions of Spanish-speaking countries -I have a friend who teaches French to the local staff at the Canadian consulate.
Hanoi would probably offer more opportunities as it has a much greater diplomatic presence and is home to the university with the most prestigious foreign language department in Vietnam.
Good luck! |
