Thank you Glenski for your post.
I've since tried to delete my original posting but can only seem to be able to edit.
If a simple spelling error causes snippy remarks then -andate al carajo -(not directed at Glenski) .

You may want to learn to spell the word first. It's 'accommodation'.

Ming,
What country are you talking about? I'm sure answers vary with the country.

In Japan, for instance, you are almost always NOT forced to live in school lodging. Of course, it's almost always cheaper simply because of the setup costs that you would have to pay on your own. Here, there is no "fee" that you have to pay to live in their housing (except for some of the more unscrupulous employers).

You know, when I went for one of my first interviews for a TEFL job way back when... they asked me a barrage of English language questions including how to spell accommodation. I got it wrong and was humbled. Never forgotten how to spell it since.

Ming... you're a teacher... learn.
