I`ve been living in Osaka for five months now...and I`m dying to play some hockey...it`s pretty much the only thing I miss from home aside from poutine. I was curious if anyone knows where, if possible, I could play ice hockey. I live near Asashiobashi, where they freeze over the Osaka Pool in the winter, so I know I can at least skate, but I`m looking for a league or something where I could play in organized games. Also, it would be a dream of mine to teach people, particularly children. If anyone has any leads on this...anywhere in Japan, I`d greatly appreciate it. I`m visiting home in August, so I`m hoping to find out before then so I can bring my equipment back with me.
Thanks,
Josh |

Hi Josh
I couldnt find much but there were a few websites and bulletin boards in Japanese on ice hockey. Not much use if you dont read japanese.
here is the link to the Japan Ice Hockey Federation
http://www.jihf.or.jp/
If you are in Osaka maybe a small ad asking for info in the Flea Market would help?

Hockey? Girl's game. Grass was made for football (that's 'soccer' for any nationals of nations that are crap at football). Oh ICE-hockey. No idea. |

Canadians never call it ICE hockey. It is simply hockey and everyone knows what we are talking about. |
