I know this isnt specifically related to teaching issues, but I just arrived in Santiago yesterday, and I want to find a good Spanish language program to enroll in. There are about a million of these Spanish language schools, but if anyone has any recommendations for a good, intensive program, that wont be too expensive, please pass some names my way. It would be immensely appreciated...

I just wanted to let you know that I think Latin Immersion is a good program. Alejandra is the person to contact. ( Well, really one of several) OR you can just hang with my freinds and I and learn the way I did... trial by fire. I will be in Santiago on the 10th of August. I was in Chile as a missionary last year, and am going back. I even found my future wife there.

I hope all is well. Is this your first tie in Chile? If I can help in any way, please ask.

I don't have any recommendations from personal experience, but I've heard that Natalis is good and cheap.

Don't know where your Spanish is now, but there's an informal conversation group at least on Tues and Thurs, but maybe also on Mon and Wed, at The English Reader, an english-language bookstore on Los Leones, near the Los Leones metro, in Providencia. I think the address is 200 something, can't remember. Around 7:30 or 8:00. It's an interchange, you speak part Spanish, part English, in a group or one on one. Probably a good way to meet people, too.

good luck and all that.
