I'm flying through Taipei and will have to find a hotel just for a night to sleep in because of a long layover

Any recommendations for a simple, cheap, clean, and near hotel??

how can I get there?

I think that the nearest hotels to Chiang Kai Shek airport are in Taoyuan....go to the tourist info. desk and get directions to a hotel.

It will probably be a hassle for you - taking the bus (approx. 15 minutes ride), walking around and trying to decipher the characters on the hotel's signage, etc.... but that is what you need to do.

There are NO hotels at the airport at the current time (my info is current as of May 15, 2005). Confused

There's a motel in Nankan which is about 10km from the airport.

Actually there is one hotel right there at the airport. I have stayed there twice. I'm sorry I just can't remember the name. It is a pricey hotel that includes all the ammenities and an airport shuttle to your gate. A standard room for one night was 3300NT last year.

I live near the airport, my roommates are gone for 2 weeks so we have a few extra rooms. If anyone wants to stay here, 1000NT/night. I'll even pick you up at the airport!
