There is a Canadian school called Unitedtesol.com that offers a course and 1 month practicum in Cuba? Anyone heard of it or taken it? You can get a student loan for it , thats why i'm interesed. Is $3800 cdn a rip off? Anyone know of any other schools in Mexico that offer the same type of deal? Thanks. |

As I understand it, they give you just one week's training. Better by far to pay for a TEFL/CELTA certificate, as these qualifications are valid globally. |

You'll live very well - and get a real TEFL Cert course in Thailand for that price. And have a lot of money left over for the next month.
IF - only one week's training . . . then not a good deal at all.
There is some general agreement that an "international standard" TEFL Cert should include a minimum of 100 hours of classroom instruction and at least 6-8 hours OBSERVED teaching practice. Not just turn you loose and you practice. |
