Hi gang,
Hope everyone is doing great!
I have a question and I am just taking a chance that someone on the forum might have some insight. Here it is:
My wife is currently coming to the USA from the Caribbean ( Trinidad and Tobago). We have been going through the petition process for two years and now she will finally be with me.
We plan on moving back to Trinidad within 4 1/2 years. I may or may not work overseas for a few years before taking a job on the Island.
She is African and I am Italian. I was wondering if I could take her overseas with me in either Korea or Tiawan while I teach. But I am not sure how her resident status will affect her ability to travel?
I know it take a few year before she can be a permenant resident and about 7 for citizenship. It would be great if she could come with me but I am not sure how that works..being married to an american citizen does not seem to have as much cloat nowadays ( I may be wrong?)
Well, I would like to see what type of feed back I get here first and then I will definately call INS and see what there take on it is?
Thank you in advance forum, you guys are always great! |

Is your passport American? With that & a BA youre good to teach in Korea. Your wife could get a dependant visa but couldnt legally work here. |

Yes, my Passport is US and I have a BA, MSW and working on a MA-TESOL.....I was just concerned on how I could take my wife with me, especially since she is not a US citizen and will only have temporary residence status until her Permanent res status kicks in ( years later )..
I will check with INS and see what they say.
Thanks for your reply Schwa |
