Hi, I am a New Zealander, I have just finished my first year of teaching in Nanning, China. I am looking to live in Korea because I hear it is a great country and I need to start paying off my student loan and that isn't going to happen in China.
I have a BA degree and a CELTA and a years teaching experience. How much should I expect to get paid? Also if I live outside of Seoul in a coastal city should I be able to save much money? |

Depends on your job really, but anywhere from 1.8 million to 2.4 million won is possible - figure 2.1 or 2.2 most likely. You can figure that 2million is about US$1900 roughly.
You are likely to save more if you live outside the big cities - just not as much to do - not so many good restaurants - or nightclubbing for some.
Lifestyle will determine how much YOU save - but you can reasonably expect to save US$10-12,000 per year (with a sane lifestyle). |
