If anybody remembers my first foray into this forum, I was looking into going to Khon Kaen. I got the job offer and the school has agreed to re-imburse/straight up pay for my airfare, so I will be arriving in Thailand the first week of August.

Question: Is it best to book a flight from Bangkok to KK while here in the States, or should I just get there and find a cheaper way? What IS the best way to get from BK to KK? Keep in mind that I have about as much ability to communicate in Thai as I do with trees and the moon, and that I'm going to have to shift from Outer Banks beach bum mode to SE Asian travel mode in, oh, about two weeks. So assume I'll be, what's the best way to put it? Functionally retarded. I mean, I remember when I got to China...I felt like I'd stepped out of a space ship and onto another planet...
