I do not work ın Turkey - just pass through from home to where I work. (Both locatıons are parts of the former Ottoman Empıre). Prıcs have been goıng up FAST. How do you guys manage to lıveher ? I am sure not many tachers ın İstanbul can save. I have been HORRİFİED at prıce rises. |

It's not (yet) that bad. Depends what your priorities are. I manage to save and eat out literally every day, but maybe that's because I don't drink or smoke. However, I spend quite a lot on clothes (everyone must have an addiction! )
Prices have gone up visibly since 2003, and NOT at the same rate as salaries here.
I'm just as horrified as you when I go back home (an Eastern European country) and can't figure out the money anymore - but when I do, it's just as painful. |

Things have definitely gone up, especially house prices and beer Beer used to be 40 cents a pint, now it is not much different from the UK.
Thanfully salaries have increased. Mt first salary was 6 million a month, at the time about 150 quid. |

I used to wonder why the Turkish folks I knew called just about everything expensive. O �ok pahalı, ya! Now I understand. After watching the numbers go up, up, up... even though the price may have stayed about the same if you convert it into dollars, it's hard not complain! |
