hello,
i was wondering if any of you readers would be so kind as to give me the inside scoops on some schools, that is, if you are leaving, and had a pleasant experience with your school, could you let me know the name and email address so i could apply for the vacant position? i'm a qualified teacher, 28, with experience but NO DRIVER's LIcence...could that be a major problem?? hope not. well, that's all for now!
thanks in advance
jess Wink

For most conversation schools (eikaiwa) not having a driver's license shouldn't be a problem. Some companies that send(dispatch) Assistant Langauge Teachers(ALT's) to public or private elementary, junior and senior highschools, may require you to have a driver's license. But again, not all. Having a drivers license would just allow you to have slightly better consideration for some positions. That's all.

abysinniangirl,
No offense, but I really wouldn't hold my breath on such responses. The market here is near saturation, and if people do hand off jobs by word of mouth, it is usually to people they know, not a faceless name on the Internet.

By "qualified" teacher, do you mean you have a teaching license from your home country, or that you simply have a degree in education plus some experience?

And, just when did you expect to be here for the interviews? Only about a dozen eikaiwas interview abroad and sponsor work visas.
