Can anyone in Japan be a visa sponsor (I mean, someone other than an eikawa or other educational institute) for the purpose of hiring an English teacher?
I have a friend who owns her own business (with a fair number of employees) and mentioned in passing that she'd like to have everyone take English lessons, hinting that she'd like me to take the job.
I'm in Korea without a Japanese visa, and not sure if she would be able to sponsor me so I can teach in her company (plus a few other companies her friends own).
What are the rules for sponsorship?

Try the search button first. Search visa sponsorship in the Japan forum. It's not like this hasn't been mentioned a 1000 times. |

If your friend's company offer you a position with an income of around Yen 3 000 000 p.a. teaching English then the first hurdle (evidence of Income from teaching) is taken care of. |

1000? I must have done something wrong: I counted only 171 instances of visa+sponsorship, and none that I saw actually answered my question. All were mentions of spouse/WHV/humanities/self-sponsorship visas (none of which I qualify for), instructor visas (which only mention educational institutes as sponsors), and the various eikawas like NOVA, Jet, and the jukus (again, educational institutes). Didn't see anything that fit my situation, hence the post.
Using info PM'ed to me (thanks Paul) I was able to redefine my search for other posts that contained the info I was looking for.
But no worries, mate, the sarcasm is very much appreciated.
