The only company I have heard that has this set up is NOVA's multimedia center. Its more of a closed circuit TV set up using cameras connected to the TV. You need to be on the FlexTime schedule (one year of university and working holiday visa) if you want to work there though.

My hubby works at MM. You have to be full-time *which on the new schedule I'm not sure how many hours that is exactly - 30 plus I think. But you have to be sponsored which means you have to have a university/college degree. And it is over the internet. The students watch it from their homes or from any NOVA branch, but the signal is sent over the internet. They have to buy special equipment to use at their home. Each class is a max of 3 students which is different from branch which is 4. The shifts are 7-3, 10-6, 3-11, and the crazy overnight shift that starts around 11 PM. These times are approximate. They also have some split shifts where you work 4 lessons big break 4 lessons. The new schedule has some weird 5 hour days in there too - so they can cut back working hours (and avoid paying health insurance) Wink He says that the classes are easy though, he thinks it's easier than teaching at branch. Quote "It's easier than working at McDonalds."

GEOS has something similar, but with much cheaper equipment.

I tried it out for about a year, but they don't pay well enough for the weird hours involved. Right now, they don't have many customers, either.

ECC has similar as well. Plus there are a few companies that have sprung up in the last few years to soley do this sort of thing and just as quickly fallen by the way side. Hard to sustain a consistent profits soley vid based English learning.

Nova appears to be doing alright with it. The MM Centre at Namba has the most teachers than anywhere else. My husband said that about 700 people work at MM. Of course they also teach French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese etc... by 'ginganet'. Of course who REALLY knows how well they're doing Very Happy
