I have been searching for an apartment in Yonghe as I have to be out of the room I am renting by the end of August. I have been looking on tealit and forumosa but there has been almost nothing that is workable. Has anyone out there found a good apartment through an agency? Is there one that specializes in dealing with expats? Is it an expensive ordeal? Seeing as how I don't really have any Taiwanese friends and even less foriegn friends in Taipei I could use some help. Oh ya, and if anyone has a place or knows of a place in Yonghe could you let me know?

The best advice I ca give you is to go to the nearest University or college and walk around looking for red adverts posted on local bulletin boards and the like. Call the number and ask for someone who speaks English. Sooner or later you will find what you are looking for and in my experience it will be sooner rather than later as there are more rooms available than perspective tenants.
99% of these red adverts with telephone numbers written on them or for rooms or apartments.
Good luck!
