Anyone else notice a lot of police and military activity? Kingdom-wide or just here in Jeddah? |

The latest Warden message (Aug 7) may answer your question...or at least give a clue. |

Yep, I just want to note I posted before the message was sent.
This warning includes ships at sea and the possible use of chemical and biological weapons. Is this new verbage, just boilerplate or new information? |

I did see just after I read you message that the embassies and consulates will be closed for Monday and Tuesday. Is that part of your warden message?

The official Saudi word is that there is no information regarding an imminent threat.
"However, a Saudi Interior Ministry spokesman said the Kingdom had no solid information of any threat of terrorist attacks inside the country.
We have no confirmed information about any imminent terrorist threat in the Kingdom. We are taking all necessary security measures to confront any possibility, said Gen. Mansour Al-Turki."

NG Tanks (well armored cars) in Jeddah, reports of SAMs being moved and manned in Riyadh. Seems like the Saudis think something is up. |

They're just not going to admit it. Remember when one of the Saudi ministers stated that there was no known Al-Qaeda presence in KSA? That was eight days before the May 2003 attacks in Riyadh. |

RIYADH (Reuters) - Britain warned on Monday that militants were in the final stages of planning attacks in Saudi Arabia as Washington shut its missions there for two days and Australia told its citizens to avoid travel to the kingdom.
Other than that, nothing at all. |

Here's the first line from one of the latest articles I could find:
'Credible' threats led to U.S. closures in Saudi Arabia
From Elise Labott
CNN Washington Bureau
Monday, August 8, 2005; Posted: 12:59 p.m. EDT (16:59 GMT)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. State Department closed its embassy and consulates in Saudi Arabia for two days after receiving "specific and credible" threats against its facilities in the kingdom, State Department officials told CNN. |
