I've had a major rash on my leg for two months now and tried all sorts of stuff but it is getting worse. I'm looking for a doctor (specifically a dermatologist) in the Yokohama/Tokyo area. OR even a website/referrel system for a good Jdoctors. I did a search here but didn't come up with much, so sorry if this has already been asked. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried asking your embassy? This is not meant as a snide comment. Many embassies keep a roster of English-speaking doctors so they can advise tourists in distress.

Metropolis magazine usually has an advertisement at the back where you can get English speaking doctors. I tried it and was successful once. Here's the link for the ad........

http://metropolis.co.jp/classifieds/biz.asp?action=home&pid=49

Its listed under Medical Info.

Process of elimination in many cases. Took me 5 years before I found a doctor I was happy with. In my experience virtually all doctors can speak at least a little bit of English. Take a dictionary and take your chances.

Thanks for the tips! I tried a few from the embassy before and was just looking for a solid recommendation from you guys--so far all the advice I've gotten here has been really great. Thanks again! Very Happy
