You can get job there via Saxoncourt agency in London if you are that way inclined-for a measly $800 per month!!Or Charles School in Nizhnivartovsk a bit further east is offering'$1000!!
Have you ever actually been to either of these places and seen what it is like???Especially in winter it is horrendously cold and Siberia is miles from anywhere!!Even the red-necks who work on the oil rigs will probably earning morein a week than you will in a month and the Ukrainian ladies who want you to buy their company set their prices accordingly!!
Before jumping, consider the consequences my friend! |

Well, no, I hadn't considered that it was cold there. Nor did I know the locations of the cities you mention here. Thank you for your input.

I can't tell whether or not you're being facetious. If you are, and you believe that TEFL is a dead-end, than I would suggest you not teach. In any case, you didn't answer the question posed. |

Taught there last year. Yeah its cold, but its not a problem. Life goes on. Made some brilliant friends out there and fags are cheap. $800 a month was about 2 or 3 times as much as the russian teachers at the school earned so cant complain. we were never short of money and everyone came home with plenty of savings. the main school is a miniature big ben. town isnt great but you can get pissed every day and theres skiing etc organised. Generally well looked after. I wouldnt go back but for a one off i would say i really enjoyed it. two teachers from last year have gone back again recently for another year there so cant be too bad. dont like russian students though - found a lot of them spoilt and unresponsive and just chatted in russki or got their phones out. some students were lovely though. *beep* it, go. |

Grrrr, I wish people wouldn't be so quick to bag the way a place looks at first glance!
