So I've just been offered a teaching job at Word in Tarnobzreg. It seems like a nice school. It gets lots of kudos from Mr. XXX on this board. Pay is 3500zl/mo. gross, they take rent and utils out of that (haven't asked yet how much that will be) and the teaching contract stipulates a total of 26 hours (45 minute lessons) a week. And there's a $400 bonus at the completion of the contract.

I've got a phone interview with the Caledonia School in the Czech Republic coming up next week and I've got a major case of indecisiveness going on.

Does anyone else here have any information they could add to further confuse and or sway me in one direction or the other?

How long will a school usually let someone stall before needing a firm decision? (the contract begins in October).

Thanks -- in advance -- for all your help!

I'm assuming that you've read this:

Don't know much about the city. I looked at the school's website and it seemed like a pretty normal school. The salary is probably more than enough to live more than comfortably in tarnobrzeg. 26 hours is a tad on the high side if it's your first year teaching.

Definitely check out how much they'll take out in rent.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply Afowles, and thanks to XXX for the helpful PMs! I've decided to go for the job, it looks like a good school by all accounts. I'll certainly post a job journal of my own here once I complete my contract for future applicants.
