Does anyone know anything about ICAL? (www.teacher-training.net)

From the googling I've done, it appears to be about as well known as i-to-i, but given that i-to-i is not always met with positive comments, I wasn't convinced if that was a good thing or not.

If you've taken an ICAL course before, I'd be especially interested to hear your opinion Smile

I don't know much about ICAL. But if it's similar to i to i, I'd probably take a miss...

When evaluating the quality of a TEFL qualification that an applicant has taken , I look at three things. One is teaching practice; if there is no observed teaching practice, the course is of very limited value to me.

Two is time- a short course is worth less than a longer one.

Three is the on line component, if any. On an i to i website, Ive seen a practice/sample module activity that looks like a monkey would do it alright. To me, this means that they are there merely to offer a cert to anyone.

Regards,
Justin

A TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTAL RIPOFF AND IMPOSSIBLE TO COMPLETE. THE TEST QUESTIONS ARE NONSENSICAL AND UNREASONABLE AND THE "TUTOR" IS JUST THERE TO REFUSE YOUR ATTEMPT AND GIVE YOU USELESS ADVICE ON RESUBMISSION.

Sounds like someone is speaking from personal experience there... Care to elaborate? I'm not considering ICAL anymore, but you've got me interested... Razz

It was a total scam and a horrendous waste of $. I don't feel like going into it other than to say the tests were written in vague and tedious ways to which no answers were acceptable, including ones written in line with the tutor's suggestions. It's a game of jumping through hoops just to tire out the applicant.
