Hello,
This is an issue I haven't been able to get info on.
I have got my visitor's visa to Taiwan. I showed them an itinerary at the office, but I haven't actually purchased my ticket. Would the Taiwanese officials at Taipei airport let me in if I didn't show them a ticket out of Taiwan?
Thanks,
Nick |

They may not check and you'd be fine. Then again, they just as easily could and you'd be stuck buying ticket then and there. This has been gone over at least a million times on this site. Some people have gotten away with it; others have faced hassles and had to buy expensive tickets on the spot.
Bottom line is Taiwan requires that people entering on tourist visas have tickets out of the country upon arrival, so you're best to simply follow the rule if you don't want headaches. As I've already written, the best thing to do is get an open ended return ticket to your home country. Set the date for within the visas valid period. When you get here, you can cancel the return date and reschedule it for any date up to a year from purchase date. Trust me; you will use the return portion within a year. You'll want a vacation by then. |
